Were only American citizens involved with the gold rush?

The gold rush was international in every way. Europeans, Chinese, Russians, Mexicans, Indians. No group was exempted from the gold fever and they were equally accepted in the fields, at least initially, until cultural differences began to get in the way. California became a global magnet for peoples all over the world. Come to California, the land of riches, streets are paved with gold.
