How did you become interested in the voting machine as a curator?
Transcript
I'm one of two curators along with Harry Rubenstein that go out and collect the campaign. And so when the Florida recount developed I just said I just have to go down there and so I went down there to Palm Beach County before. I was able to see the process of the county, the way they had organized the vote tallying and that was fascinating. It was all just invented on the spot. They were just responding to a crisis and trying to just get through it. We wanted a Votematic with a butterfly ballot. It was a way for them to put it past them, that giving a Votematic to the Smithsonian. But that's how I became interested in it.
